Oh, how you bring back memories! My mother was the same way, except she would also add how much energy and time she had to put into the meal. Funny thing is when I decided to cook a turkey for the first time years ago, I realized how really simple it was! No, you're not being "small-minded", but don't let it ruin your day. I don't miss those Thanksgivings/holidays at all...I'll be enjoying a nice quiet one at home with my sons in our "small" but awesome apartment!!

Wow. Sounds like something out of a movie. I wonder who'd they get to play your monster-in-law! Glenn Close, maybe?

I'm glad you got out of hosting the Martha STewart extravaganza at your house! I really dislike all of the "shoulds" about the holidays.
