Venomous Kate left a comment in my previous post that she deleted her whole NaNoWriMo novel after a few martinis. That's the saddest thing I've ever heard.
Don't you know if you leave your deathless prose on your hard drive long enough it will disappear on its own? I have a gazillion short stories on those little plastic disks that nobody uses anymore. May as well have deleted them. You don't have to delete your work. Technology will do it for you.
But back to Kate. Here she had written the Great American Novel and her inner critic was drinking martinis and decided to do the world a favor and DELETE.
I'm sure it was good stuff. Kate's a wildly entertaining writer with original, important things to say.
Kate, the only thing left for you to do is write it again. NaNoWriMo starts on Saturday. Sign Up!

Thank you for the encouragement, but I honestly don't know how I'd find the time for NaNoWriMo this year. Oh, sure, I could give up sleep but that tends to make me a bit homicidal, and last I checked they don't let prisoners profit from their crimes. So... I'll be sitting this one out.
