Here's another bit of my father's wisdom:
All guns are loaded.
Even if you just unloaded your gun, it's still loaded.
Handle every gun as if it were loaded.
Most people who get killed when fooling with guns get killed by unloaded ones.

Absolutely. Which is why one gun safe hold all unloaded guns. Another gun safe holds ammunition. And the keys are kept up high and hidden. Always.
