I'm a writer. I didn't know I could go on strike. I thought it was "writer's block" that made me stop writing.
Actually, I think I was a member of that union briefly, when I was a playwright and was a member of the Dramatist's Guild, which is related. The whole idea of a writer's strike seems funny to me.
I'd like to gather with other writers who are blocked and picket somebody. The Department of Creativity and the Muse or something. Not sure what we'd say. That's the problem with writer's block. You can't think of what to say.
While this gets all sorted out, now's a good time to catch up on some shows you may have missed. If you haven't watched "24" with Jack Bauer/Kiefer Sutherland, you've got a lot of catching up to do. Start at the beginning: 24-Season 1 DVD, 24-Season 2 DVD, 24-Season 3 DVD, 24-Season 4 DVD, 24-Season 5 DVD and 24-Season 6 DVD. If you start now you can be caught up by the time Season 7 rolls around (if it gets produced due to the strike and Kiefer Sutherland's DUI jail time). I've just installed the Amazon Unbox widget so you should be able to see it -- and "Firefly" -- if you scroll down and look to the right. (You can even order it and I'll get about 40 cents or something.)
Another interesting TV series on DVD is "Firefly." This series was canceled part way through the first (and only) season. It's a strange combination of Western and science fiction. What's appealing about it is that the people have real problems, such as unemployment or the consequences of previous bad decisions. My favorite episode is "Janestown." But don't watch it first. In fact, try to watch the series in order to get the most out of it. It's also on the Amazon Unbox widget.
They've also made a movie based on the "Firefly" series: "Serenity." It's excellent, and the Serenity DVD is now out.
I don't usually buy DVDs because I'm not going to watch most things over and over. But these are really great to have around.

Best show ever made.
And it's "Jaynestown." Sorry to be that girl.

Thanks for the spelling correction. I could have looked it up but was too lazy.
Glad you're that girl!
